With great anticipation, I left for my first public bookselling event, invited by the Authors Guild of Tennessee. It was a lovely day, with a short drive from where I live; fortunately my GPS did not direct me wrong.
The Kingston Public Library is very pleasant and offers wonderful books on all kinds of topics. Mr. Bill Gillum, author of "The Reluctant Terrorist", "The King of the Kadzo" and many others, was there to greet me and introduce me to many authors of the Guild.
A table was made available for me to install and display my books, cd's and painting. We were in the children's area of the Library and I sat next to Adele Roberts, author of the children's series "The Adventures of SAMMY THE SKUNK". I also met Cindy Leihkauff, author of “The Parable Patch” and Janet Greer, author of "When You Hear A Siren".
The Guild also organized a writing workshop, led by Pamela Schoenewaldt, author of “SWIMMING in the MOON”, which was enlightening and included interesting group participation.
At the end the event, BJ Gillum handed me the registration form to become a member and a recognized author of the Guild. He asked for a copy of my book to be reviewed by the board; I am so enthused about the Guild and hope to be accepted in the near future. Bill mentioned to Abraham that it should not be an issue as I offered a wonderful book, images and paintings.
Naturally, I took some pictures of the area, library and fellow authors. Hope you enjoy.
I am so thrilled for you. It looks as though you had a wonderful time. This is only the beginning of a whirlwind book tour, signings and many other exciting adventures. The world will see your works and one day the line will be long and people will be lining up early to get their copy of your extraordinary books and their wonderful message. I am so very proud of you for following your dreams and for using your God given talents for the betterment of all the children of the world.
