A heightened sense of excitement unraveled itself today while I was at the Post Office; The Farm Lady Cinthia mailed her submission of her audio book, K-9 On Board, to Parent’s Choice Awards!
I did a little research and found out that the Parent’s Choice Award is designed to help parents and caregivers of all achievements and backgrounds to make informal decisions about which new products are right for their children. The Parent’s Choice Award is the nation’s oldest non-profit program created to recognize the quality of children’s media.
Unfortunately, we the Festoons cannot vote, it’s judged by a panel of appointed jurors. The panel consists of educators, scientists, performing artists, librarians, parents and, yes, kids themselves. They identify the very best products for children of different ages and backgrounds, and of varied skill and interest levels. The Parents’ Choice Awards committees look for products that entertain and teach with flair, stimulate imagination and inspire creativity. The judges are interested in how a product helps a child grow: socially, intellectually, emotionally, ethically and physically.
Approximately 20% of those items submitted to the Parents’ Choice Awards™ program receive a commendation in one of the six award levels: Classic, Gold, Silver, Recommended, Approved, and Fun Stuff, underscoring the influential and celebrated achievement of being honored with a commendation from the Parents’ Choice Awards program.
For the Farm Lady, this avenue may provide a vehicle to help reach the awareness of her message, “A Reason for Being” to parents and their children. To her, the fact is that it’s not so important to win but the fact that others are aware of what is behind her story…and that is…there is a Door of Hope that anyone can enter.
So, between now and September 14, 2014, your prayers and thoughts would be most appreciated as to where this door may lead.
Let’s cheer her on! So, keep your eyes and ears available to read the conclusion of this exhilarating event.
Editor and Chief
Well, having read the book and being completely lost in it; I cannot imagine this book not getting recognized in several of the categories. If the judges read and listen and examine this book and all it encompasses then it should be an easy choice to win this award. Good Luck to the Farm Lady and to all those whose lives will be touched by this wonderful book and the lessons that it teaches. Lessons that today's world are more than a little desperate for.
